Procedures for copyright registration in Ho Chi Minh City are carried out according to the following steps:

Step 1: Determine the type of work to register

The author or the owner of the work needs to choose the right type of work that he or she will use to register for copyright, depending on the type of work, the copyright will be registered in an equivalent form.

Step 2: Prepare documents for copyright registration

According to the provisions of the Intellectual Property Law, a copyright registration dossier includes:

  • Declaration of copyright registration (must be written in Vietnamese, signed by the author himself, a copyright owner, or authorized person to file copyright registration application and filled in with all information of the applicant), author, copyright holder).
  • 02 copies of the work registered for copyright: 01 backup copy at the Copyright Office (address of the representative office of the Copyright Office of Ho Chi Minh City - No. 170 Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ward 6. , District 3, Ho Chi Minh City Tel: 08.39 308 086), 01 copy stamped with the number of the Registration Certificate and returned to the author, the owner of the work granted the Registration Certificate. Step 3: Submit your application and review your application

Authors or copyright holders, and work owners can directly submit or authorize other organizations and individuals to file copyright registration dossiers at the headquarters of the Copyright Office.

Registration dossiers, after being submitted to the Copyright Office, will be appraised by experts before granting a copyright registration certificate. During the appraisal process, the author, copyright owner, The owner of the work, or the person authorized to submit the application may be required to amend or supplement the application to be consistent and duly admissible.

Step 4: Time limit for processing dossiers and granting copyright registration certificates

The registration dossier, after being submitted to the Representative Office of the Copyright Office in Ho Chi Minh City, will be appraised by experts before granting a copyright registration certificate, during the appraisal process. , the author, the copyright holder, or the person authorized to file the application may be required to amend or supplement the record in order to be eligible.

Within 15 working days from the date of receipt of a valid application, the Representative Office of the Copyright Office in Ho Chi Minh City shall be responsible for granting the Copyright Registration Certificate. In case of refusal to issue a Certificate of Copyright Registration, the Representative Office of the Copyright Office in Ho Chi Minh City must notify the applicant in writing.

Step 5: Get the Copyright Registration Certificate
